The registered sources are the public pages retrieved during recorded research scans and manual checks. This is not a continuous monitoring service. Evidence entered into the Control Room ledger is counted separately below. Authority is shown on every source and on every quotation.

Last successfully checked records the most recent successful retrieval of that source. It is not a statement that every assertion resting on the source was re-verified on that date; assertion-level verification is dated separately in the Control Room ledger.
- Tier 1 · Authoritative source
- Authoritative requirement, standards or market-practice sources. Authoritative for the publishing organisation's own position.
- Tier 2 · Implementing institution
- Public implementation guidance from banks, central banks, payment service providers, infrastructures and scheme bodies. Authoritative only for that institution's own position and actions. Where such a source describes another organisation's position, it is recorded as an attributed account and never as authority for the position it describes.
- Tier 3 · Secondary report
- Specialist media, consultancies and secondary intelligence. Never presented as authoritative evidence of a requirement.
Evidence entered into the ledger
Beyond the registered research source list, material verified by hand during an investigation is recorded in the Control Room ledger rather than here, so that there is one record of it and not two.

Two SWIFT documents referenced by sources in the ledger are held behind authentication and have not been read. They are recorded as an evidence gap rather than omitted, and nothing is inferred about their contents from any other source. See the Implementation Control Room.
